How we Perceive Matters

 

 There are one set of people who perceive critics as enemies, whereas there are other sets of people who perceive critics as unpaid consultants.

 

There are one set of people who perceive problems as hindrances, whereas there are other sets of people who perceive problems as challenges

 

 There are one set of people who perceive conflicts as the reason to hate people, whereas there are other sets of people who perceive conflicts as the reason to build the relationship

 

 There are one set of people who perceive disagreement as the reason to avoid people, whereas there are other sets of people who perceive disagreement as the reason to understand people

 

There are one set of people who perceive business loss as the reason to quit the business, whereas there are other sets of people who perceive loss as knowledge gaining expenses to stay in business

 

There are one set of people who perceive change as a pain, whereas there are other sets of people who perceive change as an opportunity to gain

 

There are one set of people who perceive reality as bitter, whereas there are other sets of people who perceive reality as nutrition to digest

 

There are one set of people who perceive breakup as the reason to end the life, whereas there are other sets of people who perceive breakup as the reason to start a new lease of life.

 

There are one set of people who perceive competition as a threat, whereas there are other sets of people who perceive competition as a source of inspiration.

 

Our perception influences our behaviour, and our behaviour determines our reaction.

 

When we change our perception, we change our inner world. When we work on our perception, we are working on our life. We have one life and, we do have a choice, let us change our perception to change our life.

  Listen, Understand and Respond Most of the time, people listen to respond rather than to understand. By the time the other person finishes speaking, the listener is often already formulating a response. Let’s explore what happens in such situations. While listening, we may be trying to engage our logical brain to recall our memories and creativity for a response, or we may be accessing our emotional brain to defend ourselves against what is being said. For example, if one person talks about ways another could improve, the listener might offer excuses such as a lack of time, resources, or support. Alternatively, they may bring up personal emotions, like health or family issues. These reactions often occur while the other person is still speaking, leading to a decreased understanding and an increased eagerness to defend one’s position.
