Sense of Accomplishment
Many of us aspire to lead a life with a sense
of accomplishment, but we either go to bed with a sense of dissatisfaction or
fear of the future. Over a period, we accept dissatisfaction and, fear as a way
of life.
Deep inside us, there is always a desire to
feel accomplished, but sometimes we are clueless about it; here are a few ideas
to improve our sense of accomplishment.
1. Start a day with a plan, act on your plan,
and evaluate whether you executed your plan. If you would have executed, feel
accomplished, else consider the gap as a Learning.
2. Add short and simple activities to your
list and work towards them; every small activity increases the percentage of
accomplishment in a day.
3. Remember, Accomplishment is very personal-
constructing Burj Khalifa is an accomplishment, taking a selfie near Burj
Khalifa is an accomplishment, staying for a night in Burj Khalifa is an
accomplishment or buying Burj Khalifa at any cost is an accomplishment.
Accomplishment is not a product; it is a feeling and shouldn't be compared.
4. Stop criticising yourself when you fail
because it demotivates you and never helps you appreciate your efforts to succeed.
Start with a few things you would like to do
today and put a mental tick mark when you have done it; the more you keep
ticking, the more you feel like doing it.
We need not be achievers, but we can still live
with a sense of accomplishment.
