Who is a Rich Person?

Who is a Rich Person?

A young man once asked an old monk, "How do you define a rich person?"

The monk closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and asked, "Can you repeat your question once again?"

The young man repeated, "How do you define a rich person?"

The monk replied,

·       Rich are those who can see and appreciate the rich nature around them.

·       Rich are those who can say positive words that inspire people.

·       Rich are those who can listen to advice and convert it into positive results.

·       Rich are those who are mindful and free from worries.

·       Rich are those whose hearts are filled with compassion.

·       Rich are those who can extend their hand to the needy.

·       Rich are those who can walk an extra mile for others.

·       Rich are those who can walk in others shoes.

·       Rich are those who are free from thinking about the standard of living and focus on the quality of living."

After stating the above points, the monk asked, "Hope I have answered your question."

The young man said, "Yes, but I have certain doubts, what about people who cannot see, speak, hear, or walk?"

The monk replied, "Those who cannot see the negatives, hear the negatives, speak the negatives, and walk all the way to see the negatives around them are rich in their own ways.

My dear young man, when we equate wealth to be the symbol of richness, the richest man will still feel poor because he will always live with a scarcity mentality of acquiring more wealth. Remember, there can be more to acquire, but we all have an uncertain lifespan. Instead of wasting our lives running behind creating wealth beyond our needs let us learn to live with peace."

The Modes of Persuasion The modes of persuasion, often referred to as ethical strategies or rhetorical appeals, are devices in rhetoric that classify the speaker's appeal to the audience. They are: ethos, pathos, logos, and the less-used Kairos & telos The above model has been used by Advertisement agencies to grab the attention of the viewers and finally bring them to the purchase desk or use the cart in shopping sites. If we carefully examine the model, it has a sound application in running an effective training program too.
