A Management Lesson from Greens Seller
There are living management gurus in our day
to day life, provided there is a studious Shishya in us
Early morning around 6 A.M I listen to a voice which shouts Keerai Keerai (Greens), this greens vendor comes every day to my street and she sells varieties of greens, her friendly nature and consistency is her strengths.
Lesson-1-Being
friendly with customers improves loyalty
Lesson-2-Consistency
wins trust
I was suffering
from Anal fissure & I was advised to eat Thuthi Spinach (Indian Mallow) with my regular diet, When I
was trying to enquire about Thuthi spinach, my mother immediately said “I will
ask whether the greens supplier can get it”, in a couple of days, it was there
in my diet and that lady was quick enough to source it for us and she also said
it a is good remedy for diseases related
to constipation
Lesson-3-
Know the application of your products Lesson-4- Cater to your customer needs
For few days, I
couldn’t hear her voice, which was more like a morning alarm to me, I generally
enquired about her and my mother replied she was not aware about her absence. I
thought probably she would gone for her native or she would have not kept well.
Next day I heard her voice, which was not as vibrant as it was and walked out
see her, she was standing next a person who happens to be her son, she was
instructing him about how to sell it and she was introducing him to her
customers.
Later I came to know,
she had some health problems and hence she will take a break for few weeks and
in the mean time she was preparing her son to handle the businessLesson-5-Prepare your downline
Lesson-6-Introduce your subordinate to your customers
Lesson-7-Train your subordinate based on the market needs
After few weeks she was back in action.
