Marketing Mix from Platform Vendors
With special reference to vendors who sell near schools
The moment we talk about school life, there are many memories which comes in front of us, one of the exciting memories, is some Vendors who sit near the school platform to sell some eatables. The types of eatables differ from type of the schools, if the school is a convent where upper middle and above study, the eatables are different, whereas if it is a place where lower middle class study the eatable are different. Let’s understand how these vendors have applied Marketing Mix in their business. Before getting into their business let’s understand what is Marketing Mix
The Marketing Mix refers to the set of actions, or tactics, that a company uses to promote its brand or product in the market. The 4Ps make up a typical Marketing Mix - Product, price, Promotion and Place.
Now let’s understand how these 4 Ps are used by these vendors

Product: There are vendors who sell International Branded Ice creams near schools where upper middle-class students study, whereas local brands of ice creams are sold near schools where lower middle-class students studies.










In some locations there are eat out franchisee outlets near schools where upper middle-class students study whereas there are vendors who sell Mango pieces, Berries, Pineapple etc.


Price: The vendors knows the price Band which will sell near the schools though there will be an international brand of ice-creams but they will stock products which fits the students pocket money
Promotions: The products will be promoted with offers that will attract the students like discount coupons for next purchase, scratch card offer etc. which is required for the students
Place: The vendors will position themselves near the exit gates and platforms where the students will walk so that they get the needed visibility
The art of success in business is based on identifying the right product for right customer, learning how to price by understanding the affordability levels and giving the right offers that pulls the customers
