Life- The Line between Birth and Death

Life- The Line between Birth and Death

Life is a line between birth and death, the line can either be thinner, thicker, long, or short, it depends upon both controllable and non-controllable factors. Life can of the following combination

  1. Thin and Short
  2. Thin and Long
  3. Thick and Short
  4. Thick and Long

The choice of the line might not be in our hands, but however how we approach our life is there in our hands. Before we understand the meaning of each line let us define the following

  1. Thin- Low quality of life
  2. Short-Short lifespan
  3. Thick-High Quality of life
  4. Long-Long lifespan

Thin and Short: Some come to this world but leave the world before they experience various phase of life, they might be unfortunate and there can be unknown many reasons behind their departure.

Thin and Long: Some live for a long time, but their quality of life can be weak. They live either with problems or health issues. Though certain problems or health issues could have been due their attitude towards health and life. Instead of having a long life with pain, they can change their attitude to thicken their life.

Thick and Short: There are some whose quality of living would have been good, due to unforeseen circumstances their life would have ended early, but their contribution will be eternal and lesson for humans. The world has witnessed great personalities Alexander, Swami Vivekananda, Mozart etc.

Thick and Long- There are some whose quality of living and life span was long, they led a life that was meaningful to self and purposeful to others. They are known for their discipline towards life. The world has witnessed great personalities like Walt Disney, J. Krishnamurti, Lata Mangeshkar etc.

Mozart with lesser lifespan will be remembered forever & Walt Disney who lived for 90 plus years will be celebrated for his contribution to the world of entertainment.

The longevity of our life is not there in our hands but to make it thinner or thicker is there in our hands. Our Attitude, Discipline, competency, and our habits thicken our life.

Fill the gap with meaningful and purposeful deeds to make your life valuable for self and others

Listen, Understand and Respond

Listen, Understand and Respond Most of the time, people listen to respond rather than to understand. By the time the other person finishes speaking, the listener is often already formulating a response. Let’s explore what happens in such situations. While listening, we may be trying to engage our logical brain to recall our memories and creativity for a response, or we may be accessing our emotional brain to defend ourselves against what is being said. For example, if one person talks about ways another could improve, the listener might offer excuses such as a lack of time, resources, or support. Alternatively, they may bring up personal emotions, like health or family issues. These reactions often occur while the other person is still speaking, leading to a decreased understanding and an increased eagerness to defend one’s position. During this type of conversation, the listener may appear restless, exhibiting a lack of eye contact or head nodding. In such interactions, th...
