Democritus was an Ancient Greek who lived around 460 BC, his quote about happiness was

"Happiness resides not in possessions, and not in gold, happiness dwells in the soul."

Instead of searching for happiness outside, it is better to generate it from within

Happiness is not a lost commodity it is an unused emotion.
