The right message in the wrong
situation
A poor man was listening to a discourse by a priest for some time; the
priest asked, "Dear son, what did you understand from my discourse?"
The poor man replied, " I understood that you spoke something about
heaven, suffering, blessings, etc., without understanding my pain."
The priest asked, "My dear son, what is your pain?"
The poor man said since it has been more than three days since I ate a meal.
The priest asked," Why?"
The poor man replied, "I didn't know whether to sit and eat my meal or
run from aerial shelling."
The priest was silent for a while. The poor man said," When the life
is at stake, any spiritual or religious discourse is just a cacophony."
The priest told the organiser to serve some food.
Sometimes, the right message might sound wrong, not because of the message
but because of the situation in which it is delivered.
Know your audience's needs
before you pen down your speech.
