Vijaykanth, who was called Captain by the fans in the Tamil industry, carved a niche for himself and gave numerous hits. He was instrumental in bringing DFT Students to the limelight.

 


Justice to his Roles

Whether it be an action film or a musical film, he did justice to his roles. He shined as a Cop, IAS officer, Singer, Lawyer, Village Head and in many roles.

 







Captain was a Favourite for many.


He was a favourite for producers, directors, fans, and many others in film and political circles. An educationalist and philanthropist who wore many caps for the welfare of the film fraternity and the common people.

 

Core competencies and courage

Though Kamal Hasan and Rajinikanth were well established when Captain entered the film industry, he quickly built his core competencies and a fan base. Similarly, when he started his political party, he took it head-on with the Former Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu, Kalingar M. Karunanidhi and Selvi Jayalalitha.

 

 Captain was one of the few politicians who dared to contest all 234 constituencies to bring a change in the political arena of Tamil Nadu; though he failed in his mission, he laid the path for others to follow.

Those who went to his office during lunchtime always returned with the delight of having a sumptuous meal, which reflected his kind heart.

His production house was known for providing the best food and warm treatment for the entire crew; he was more than an actor and politician- A heart to be remembered and soul to be appreciated, a role model for those who would like to be a nice and a bold human being.
