Advice- Only the wise know the value of it

Advice- Only the wise know the value of it

We all would have come across people who give us advice; some we take seriously, and some might not. On the other hand, we do provide advice to others. When we closely examine the advice, some of it is not mere words; it is shared experiences. When we come across someone who gives us advice about failures and mistakes, they are sharing their knowledge so we can avoid the same in our lives. For instance, some would say, "Don’t invest money in the stock market based on WhatsApp forwards, who knows, he would have lost his money due to such forwards." Some might advise us on the value of health; he is probably sharing his experience based on his hospitalisation. Some might value a relationship; she would have lost a good one.

Sometimes we come across people who tell me, "I don’t like people who give advice," and I don’t like to give advice; they are right in their own way. But why should we ignore some life lessons that can make sense in our lives? Why should we stop sharing our experience, which can make sense to others? Life is all about helping each other in our own way, and advice is not just mere words; people invest a few minutes or an hour of their lives to help someone.

Next time, when you come across someone who would like to give advice, pay attention for a while. If it makes sense, work on it; otherwise, consider it time invested in strengthening a relationship.

The Modes of Persuasion The modes of persuasion, often referred to as ethical strategies or rhetorical appeals, are devices in rhetoric that classify the speaker's appeal to the audience. They are: ethos, pathos, logos, and the less-used Kairos & telos The above model has been used by Advertisement agencies to grab the attention of the viewers and finally bring them to the purchase desk or use the cart in shopping sites. If we carefully examine the model, it has a sound application in running an effective training program too. Part-1-Ethos Application of the model in training program Ethos- Trainer Introduction There are organization where trainer and his credibility are introduced, but there are occasions where trainer does a self-intro and starts the program.
