Q& A with a Monk-18-Gift

M-Monk

D- Disciple

D-I feel I am not gifted

M -why do you feel, you are not gifted?

D-People around me are either gifted with some sort of talent like singing, painting or they are gifted with parents who are wealthy

M - Did you ever try singing?

D- No

M - Did you ever try painting?

D-No

M -Without exploring how do you know you are not gifted?

D-I am confident that I cannot sing like others or paint like others

M - if an upcoming singer compares with award winning singer and stops singing, he will never improve his talent, similarly in life without trying if you conclude, you can never identify the talent you have

D- Apart from my job, I don’t have any other talent

M - Do you spend more time in workplace?

D-Yes, I do

M - Why do spend more time in workplace, don’t you have a family?

D- I do have a family, sometimes it’s because of the work or I don’t have anything to do, when I go back home

M - That’s the reason why you don’t realise your Gift

D- What do you mean by that?

M -When you have more work, you don’t realise the competency that is being built in you

D- So, there is a talent or skill that is developed in my job?

M - Yes, you will Realise, when you rewrite your resume

Remember when you said, you go back to home and you have nothing to do, you never realised two gifts you have: Family and Time

D- you are right, sometimes we don’t realise the gift in hand

M -Life is a multiple gift, you need to unwrap it every day, it comes in seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months and years
