Your child is an Environmentalist and you are the Coach

·         Have you seen your child collecting pet bottle caps, empty boxes, stamps etc?

·         Have you seen your child making shapes by cutting papers, paint on sheets /boxes etc.

·         Have you come across parents complaining that my child scribbles on the wall?

·         Have you told your child to focus on main subjects and engage in craft activities during free time?

I am sure you would have answered yes for any one of the questions raised above.

During every era there was a set of knowledge and skills that shaped the world. During world-1 &11 the planet witnessed many inventions in the field of defence, medical, chemicals etc. Post world wars, world was seeing inventions in the field of electronics, computers, manufacturing and many other fields.

Later on, we slowly witnessed computers becoming a household product, mobiles becoming personal gadgets, Apps becoming our guides and the list goes on.

The discussions on various eras and changes would have given us a sense of pride as humans but we should also realise comforts don’t come without pain, today the world is witnessing environmental issues ranging from pollution, climatic change, shortage of water, shortage of oil and many more threats.

During the growth stage the world was celebrating inventors, scientist, creator and so on. But today the world is looking at environmentalist, generators of alternative energy, people who can convert waste into products people who can conserve &preserve.

In simple words they need Planet Saviours

·         Who are they?

·         Where are these people?

·         What are they doing?

·         Who can nurture them?

Don’t google them, they are the children whom we mentioned above, these are the children who can convert waste into a product, they can combine two different things and make a product. All we need to do is nurture their crafting skills.

It’s time to Ponder:

·         If your child doesn’t know how to recite a poem it is not a problem, but if your child doesn’t know how to recycle and reuse a product it will be a problem.

·         If your child doesn’t know the capitals of countries it is not a problem, but if your child doesn’t know how to conserve energy it will be a problem.

·         If you child doesn’t know the power of kings in the history it is not a problem, if your child doesn’t know how to preserve it will be a problem.

Remember:

·         Some inventions are destructive whereas some craft works do create.

·         Some inventions can lead to waste whereas some craft works can convert those waste into products.

·         Some inventions pollute whereas some craft work can reduce pollution

It’s time to nurture the craftwork in a child because planet requires hands to be protected and heart to be taken care. Craft is an outcome of passion and love.

·         Next time when you see your child making a cover with old newspaper hug your child.

·         Next time when you see your child cutting a used paper for making a toy kiss your child.

Your child is an Environmentalist and you are the Coach

Listen, Understand and Respond

Listen, Understand and Respond Most of the time, people listen to respond rather than to understand. By the time the other person finishes speaking, the listener is often already formulating a response. Let’s explore what happens in such situations. While listening, we may be trying to engage our logical brain to recall our memories and creativity for a response, or we may be accessing our emotional brain to defend ourselves against what is being said. For example, if one person talks about ways another could improve, the listener might offer excuses such as a lack of time, resources, or support. Alternatively, they may bring up personal emotions, like health or family issues. These reactions often occur while the other person is still speaking, leading to a decreased understanding and an increased eagerness to defend one’s position. During this type of conversation, the listener may appear restless, exhibiting a lack of eye contact or head nodding. In such interactions, th...
