Economic Growth is not only about people who are above, it's also about people who are in the bottom

We have been witnessing and hearing about Economic Recession, Slow down, meltdown, stock market crash and many other terms related to Economy. These terms become a debate in the news channel & it becomes a nightmare for the investors in the stock market.

There can be many reasons for such debacles, but let's not forget that one underlying reason for such situations is Human Greed. Let it be the melting of Antarctica or a hole in ozone layer it's we the humans who had disturbed the nature for our comfort and the economy for our profitability.

The Attitude of being better than the best has led to many business decisions that has resulted in unethical & unfair trade practices. When such situations occur, it is the Governments that needs to intervene and regulate but it is unfortunate to witness that government is a part of it.In such situations, we not only come across slow down, we also see and read about retrenchment, reduction in production low consumption etc. which impacts the people in the bottom of the pyramid.

Let's remember, a man in the top might defer his decision of buying a second car or a luxury Villa, but man in the bottom might need to borrow to meet his basics, once his savings erodes.

A business plan that cannot retain the people in the bottom line and a government that cannot regulate such businesses need to rethink their values and purpose.

If business houses need to improve their profitability, they need to rework on their loyalty towards their employees and if Government wants to win the support of the people, they need to change their focus from their blue-eyed boys to masses.

We don't require economist to revive the economy by giving packages to businesses, we need a humanist to think about people in the bottom

Listen, Understand and Respond

Listen, Understand and Respond Most of the time, people listen to respond rather than to understand. By the time the other person finishes speaking, the listener is often already formulating a response. Let’s explore what happens in such situations. While listening, we may be trying to engage our logical brain to recall our memories and creativity for a response, or we may be accessing our emotional brain to defend ourselves against what is being said. For example, if one person talks about ways another could improve, the listener might offer excuses such as a lack of time, resources, or support. Alternatively, they may bring up personal emotions, like health or family issues. These reactions often occur while the other person is still speaking, leading to a decreased understanding and an increased eagerness to defend one’s position. During this type of conversation, the listener may appear restless, exhibiting a lack of eye contact or head nodding. In such interactions, th...
