Life Lesson from Eve Teasing

There were 3 students who were travelling in a public transportation. When the bus reached the next stop, a teenage girl got into the bus. She sat in the ladies seat which was adjacent to those students. One of the student glanced at the girl and he immediately turned towards his friends. When his friends inquired about her looks, he said thin, her face is dark, her eyes are small and after few more remarks, he concluded she is like a witch, without a broom stick. All the three were giggling and laughing it out while talking about her.

The girl stood and came closer to those students and asked " can I have a word with you gentlemen"?

One student acted as if he was afraid to see her. One of them said " are you planning to contest in beauty pageant?

After listening to this his friends started laughing loudly.

The girl remains silent for a while and said the reason why I wanted to speak to you was to thank you.

The students were surprised and one of them asked why?

She said "I have been  seeing you for quiet sometime, you people were enjoying by commenting about me."

The purpose of my life is to be peaceful inside and keep people happy outside. I have achieved both for the day and thank
you once again.

The students were perplexed.

Listen, Understand and Respond

Listen, Understand and Respond Most of the time, people listen to respond rather than to understand. By the time the other person finishes speaking, the listener is often already formulating a response. Let’s explore what happens in such situations. While listening, we may be trying to engage our logical brain to recall our memories and creativity for a response, or we may be accessing our emotional brain to defend ourselves against what is being said. For example, if one person talks about ways another could improve, the listener might offer excuses such as a lack of time, resources, or support. Alternatively, they may bring up personal emotions, like health or family issues. These reactions often occur while the other person is still speaking, leading to a decreased understanding and an increased eagerness to defend one’s position. During this type of conversation, the listener may appear restless, exhibiting a lack of eye contact or head nodding. In such interactions, th...
