Great Vs. Famous

This incident happens in a small island which is inhibited with few lakh people which is known for beaches and water sports.

The people in the island are united and they work closely with each other and they   celebrate life to the fulllest extent.

On a rainy day inside a small airport in the island, one of the famous theatre artist entered the airport and immediately he was surrendered with people to greet him and few of them also took pics with him. While this was happening a middle aged person was hooked with his laptop.

After the crowd left, the theatre artist slowly moved towards the middle aged person and sat next to him and he was wondering, when everybody approached him but why this person did not even bother to talk to him.

The theatre artist is a  person who would like to constantly improve his performance, he perceived probably the middle aged man did not like his performance so he decided to strike a conversation with him.

The theatre artist greeted him and introduced himself.

The middle aged person immediately responded by stating that " Gentleman you don't require an introduction, I have read about you and heard people talking about you."

The theatre artist out his curiosity to take feedback immediately asked him " Sir don't  you like my performance"

The middle aged  person understood why he was asking this question " He said gentlemen to be very honest I did want to be among those people who greeted you but all those people were able to appreciate you and share their thoughts on your performance, since I haven't seen your performance I couldn't find a real reason to come to you."

The theatre artist smiled and said it is ok and he further continued and asked sir  " did  you not find time to see my play."

The middle aged man said "No"
The theatre artist asked may I know what do you do .
The middle aged man said "I am a scientist who has been assigned to study how to save this island from the natural calamities.

The theatre artist immediately raised from his chair  and gently bowed  and  said " All those who are famous are not great and all those who are great need not be famous". Sir ,you are truly great.

The middle aged man said" to be famous we also need to be talented."

The announcement was made and both of them  walked towards the aerobridge.

There are lot of people who are doing great things around us, let's start studying about  such unsung heroes and play a small role in showcasing them to the world.

Listen, Understand and Respond

Listen, Understand and Respond Most of the time, people listen to respond rather than to understand. By the time the other person finishes speaking, the listener is often already formulating a response. Let’s explore what happens in such situations. While listening, we may be trying to engage our logical brain to recall our memories and creativity for a response, or we may be accessing our emotional brain to defend ourselves against what is being said. For example, if one person talks about ways another could improve, the listener might offer excuses such as a lack of time, resources, or support. Alternatively, they may bring up personal emotions, like health or family issues. These reactions often occur while the other person is still speaking, leading to a decreased understanding and an increased eagerness to defend one’s position. During this type of conversation, the listener may appear restless, exhibiting a lack of eye contact or head nodding. In such interactions, th...
