Life Lessons from Printing on an A4 Sheet

Many of us take printouts /photocopies in our life, for some it is routine for some it might be a rare occasion. Can you recollect days where:

·         You had printed a wrong page?
·         Repeated the same page?
·         Wrong alignment
·         Or for  others reasons which would have forced you to dump the sheet in the bin or keep it in a separate tray for single side use

Hope each one us would have come across such situations in our life.

Now let’s examine our own behavior in a different occasion, have you come across situation when you had just few papers in the hand and you know that there is no additional sheet left in the tray?

Why did we behave differently with the same resources and similar kind of job?

Yes! You got it right at the first instance, we had more sheets hence we didn’t mind wasting it but in the second instance we did know, we have only few sheets and we were conscious that it should not be wasted. Now let’s understand this from different perspective:

·         Do we have more than 24 hours?
·         Do we have enough of drinking water in this planet?
·         Do our banks allow us to spend beyond a limit?
·         Finally, are we immortal?

4 different questions and one single answer “No”.

We know that every resource has its limit, every product has an expiry, and every human being has an end.

·         Are we not supposed to handle our resources carefully?
·         Are we not supposed to take care of our self?
·         Are we not supposed to handle our relationship carefully?

Think for a while, are we not wasting our resource?
Are we not wasting our life, with unwanted thoughts and discussions?

When we can pay more attention to what we do during scarcity, we can also pay similar attention in our life keep one thing in the mind

“Everything has an end, nothing is more, and nothing is less”

Listen, Understand and Respond

Listen, Understand and Respond Most of the time, people listen to respond rather than to understand. By the time the other person finishes speaking, the listener is often already formulating a response. Let’s explore what happens in such situations. While listening, we may be trying to engage our logical brain to recall our memories and creativity for a response, or we may be accessing our emotional brain to defend ourselves against what is being said. For example, if one person talks about ways another could improve, the listener might offer excuses such as a lack of time, resources, or support. Alternatively, they may bring up personal emotions, like health or family issues. These reactions often occur while the other person is still speaking, leading to a decreased understanding and an increased eagerness to defend one’s position. During this type of conversation, the listener may appear restless, exhibiting a lack of eye contact or head nodding. In such interactions, th...
