D- Disciple M- Monk

D: How to overcome the fear of facing the audience?

M: why should you overcome the fear of facing the audience?

D: So that I can be more confident

M: Why should you be more confident?

D: So that I can articulate well?

M: Why should you articulate well?

D:  Audience can understand better

M: now tell me, should you focus on fear or the audience

D:  I am not able to understand your question?

M: If you focus on fear, you are reinforcing you are a fearful person

D: Do you mean to tell that I should stop focusing on overcoming fear?

M: Remember, fear is an emotion and it will be with us. Sometimes it guides us and helps to prepare

D: Is fear good?

M: There is nothing good or bad about fear, it is dynamic. It shows up when we are not prepared, it shows up when we want to excel, it shows up when we do something new, accept it.

D: So you mean, if I prepare well, the fear will disappear

M: No, Fear will be there but it will not appear

D: So what should I do to face the audience?

M: face the mirror and ask the same question

D:  What should I tell?

M: OK, Assume I am asking the same question to you, now answer my question

D: You should prepare, practise, focus on audience need and be positive

M: Repeat the same in front of the mirror

D: Smiles, I got the answer

M: We forget the fact that we are the audience and hence we don’t ask ourselves, hence we keep searching for the solutions outside

D: True, most of the solutions lie within

M: We realise when we are questioned

D: Thank you

M: Invite me for your speech

D with a smile nods the head
