A Pond with a Difference

A monk lived in a small village who was met by many people to get solace. He meets only 5 people on daily basis and after that he gets into his meditation. The monk sits under a tree which is closer to the pond and he calls everyone and tells "go near the pond and state your problem as well as feelings about your problem one at a time.  He also instructs “Once every one finishes, assemble under the tree, we will discuss.”

Person-1- Looks at the pond and tells I lost my money in my business, I feel dejected.

Pond- Be happy you are alive to tell this, with in few seconds the pond takes the shape of the person and tells "I will understand why I lost my business and I will definitely bounce back"

Person-2- Looks at the pond and tells I am de-motivated and feel life has no meaning

Pond- Remember, you require some amount of motivation to tell your problem. within in few seconds the pond takes the shape of the person and tells "I will connect with my past to understand how motivationhelped me and bring back those days once again to give meaning to my life"

Person-3- Looks at the pond and tells my diseases is killing me and I feel days are coming to an end.

Pond- Remember, disease plays its role and you should play your role. Disease is good enough to make you weak but your mind should be strong enough to put the disease in dis ease
with in few seconds the pond takes the shape of the person and tells "I have a choice to either succumb for disease and die or live and die.

Person-3- Looks at the pond and tells I am losing my relationship with my spouse and feeling
lonely.

Pond- Remember,  no relationship can be smooth, where there is love there is anger. If you feel relationship is important work towards it, if you feel ego is important work against relationship. within few seconds the pond takes the shape of the person and tells "My ego has no value but my spouse has added value to my life"

Person-4- Looks at the pond and tells my efforts are not appreciated and I feel why should I
continue?

Pond- Remember, since your mother put effort, you are here on the planet. If she would have doubted whether her effort will result in a good child, she would have not conceived at all. within few seconds the pond takes the shape of the person and tells if all efforts are fruitful, there will
not be any room for introspection and improvement.

Person-5- Looks at the pond and tells my child is very playful and I feel it will be difficult to
identify the right career.

Pond
- Remember, your child is healthy and he is cheerful.  It's your expectation that worries you. Within in few seconds the pond takes the shape of the person and asks " did you enjoy being
playful or serious"?

After this intervention, all the five met the monk.

Monk said:

·      The mind which created the problem can solve the problem, the pond is reflection of your mind.

·        We all want positive outcome from outside but remember it is generated within, that's the reason why pond took your shape.

The pond is fictious but you are real

Listen, Understand and Respond

Listen, Understand and Respond Most of the time, people listen to respond rather than to understand. By the time the other person finishes speaking, the listener is often already formulating a response. Let’s explore what happens in such situations. While listening, we may be trying to engage our logical brain to recall our memories and creativity for a response, or we may be accessing our emotional brain to defend ourselves against what is being said. For example, if one person talks about ways another could improve, the listener might offer excuses such as a lack of time, resources, or support. Alternatively, they may bring up personal emotions, like health or family issues. These reactions often occur while the other person is still speaking, leading to a decreased understanding and an increased eagerness to defend one’s position. During this type of conversation, the listener may appear restless, exhibiting a lack of eye contact or head nodding. In such interactions, th...
