K.Kamaraj a True Servant Leader-Part-1



The world has witnessed many Leaders in different eras and each one of them had left their own principles and values. The word Leadership has many definitions and it differs from industry to industry.
India as a nation has many Leadership stories right from the days of Maurya’s, Ashoka, Cholas, Pandyas, Krishnadevaraya etc. During the freedom struggle we had Jhansi Rani, Alluri seetha RamaRaju, M.K.Gandhi, V.O.Chidamabaram Pillai, Subash Chandra Bose and many more.
Once India got the freedom from British the role of Leader was getting redefined from patriotism to nation building. In this situation Tamil Nadu witnessed a Leader with a difference whose work proves to be the strong foundation for present TN Economy. This selfless soul was none other than K.Kamaraj former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu who lived between 1903 to 1975.
 This write-up will introduce you to the Principles of Servant Leadership and prove how K.Kamaraj was a true Servant Leader.
Before we get into Kamaraj’s Servant Leadership, let’s understand what is Servant Leadership and what are the characteristics of a Servant Leader.

Servant Leadership is a philosophy and set of practices that enriches the lives of individuals, builds better organizations & ultimately creates a more just & caring world






 

 Let’s Look at the definition from few deeds of K.Kamaraj, during British regime TN’s education was only 7% after Kamaraj it surged to 37%.He was instrumental in opening 30000 schools, _education is a light that eradicates  ignorance and has brought 46.1 Lakh children into schooling system this deed can be compared to Robert K.Greenleaf’s words
