Known is a
drop, unknown is an Ocean
I was discussing with a senior person
about certain Management thoughts, he said " All management thoughts are
there in the holy book".
Since I don't read holy books, I
couldn't comprehend what he said. However, I was just thinking about what he
said and I had the following questions in my mind
1) If a person claims a holy book has
every management thought, the person should have read the book fully
2) He should have read all other
management thoughts in the world in various books and come to a conclusion, one
holy book has all these thoughts.
·
Can a human being read all the
management thoughts in his lifetime?
·
Is the world static?· Aren’t certain concepts not becoming outdated?
· Are new thoughts not emerging with changing times?
In such a dynamic world, why do people
come to conclusions so fast?
Is not the time to understand
reflect upon the following words "Katrathu Kai Mann Alavu, Kallathathu
Ulagalavu"* has been translated as "What you have learned is a
mere handful; What you haven't learned is the size of the world" It can
also be written as "Known is a drop, unknown is an Ocean"
