Will she be my Valentine?

I looked into her eyes, thinking she will be my Valentine but later I realized she looked me down.

I went behind her, thinking she will be my Valentine, but later I realized she felt I was a Nuisance.

I sat opposite to her, thinking she will be my Valentine, but later I realized she felt I was a disturbance.

I gave up on my Valentine and entered a coffee shop ordering a black coffee to mourn, a young and a beautiful girl sat next to me, I looked at her with a sarcastic smile, but she gave a genuine smile and said "I am your Valentine"

I said " I had a valentine in my mind but she looked me down, she felt I was nuisance and a disturbance"

She said " I was standing on the terrace, expecting you to look up, I came behind expecting you to turn back and I was sitting opposite expecting you to notice me, but you never paid attention to me"

I asked her "Who are you?"

She said with pain " I am an opportunity" and added " If you look up, you will attract me, if you look behind you will understand your past mistakes and if you think about your future you can attract me"

I put down my head in shame and stared at my black coffee for a while and raised my head to see her walking away from me.

Later I understood that opportunities are my Valentine and I need to spot it, before it Vanishes.

Listen, Understand and Respond

Listen, Understand and Respond Most of the time, people listen to respond rather than to understand. By the time the other person finishes speaking, the listener is often already formulating a response. Let’s explore what happens in such situations. While listening, we may be trying to engage our logical brain to recall our memories and creativity for a response, or we may be accessing our emotional brain to defend ourselves against what is being said. For example, if one person talks about ways another could improve, the listener might offer excuses such as a lack of time, resources, or support. Alternatively, they may bring up personal emotions, like health or family issues. These reactions often occur while the other person is still speaking, leading to a decreased understanding and an increased eagerness to defend one’s position. During this type of conversation, the listener may appear restless, exhibiting a lack of eye contact or head nodding. In such interactions, th...
