A Child's Cry

A Child's Cry

I don't care which religion you belong to; I am a child who lost my parents and, of course, my limbs, too. If you politicians consider yourself leaders, stop your bloody battle and come forward to help us survive. Firing at each other proves you are Maniacs dressed in suits. We humbly suggest stepping down from powers and settling in mental health centres to overcome your disorders.

What surprises us is you are having a three-course meal while we are searching for a piece of bread, you are having a sparkling wine while we are waiting for a bottle of water, and your children are safe in other countries while we are wondering to which country we belong.

I understand that you politicians graduated from the best universities, advised by the best brains, but today, we witness an inhuman act. It doesn't matter to which side we belong, but all that matters is whether we have a future.

People read about weapons and their capabilities but don't understand the fear we live in. What is the use of arms and ammunition when people struggle without arms and legs?

It doesn't take a few minutes to announce a ceasefire, a few hours to sit and discuss, a few days to understand the implications of the battle, and finally, a pen to sign a peace treaty.

We as humans have evolved; we have reached space and started exploring the moon, but still, we fight for a piece of land and call it a holy land. Remember, there is no place more sacred than our hearts and divinity other than an innocent child. Before you start firing the next missile, think about a pregnant lady, a newborn baby, a toddler, a child, a teenager, physically differently abled, mentally differently abled, young adult, middle-aged people, and older adults; they are not strangers. They are like your family members, friends, relatives, or neighbours.

To end all wars should be the sole vision of the planet, and every leader should imbibe peace and harmony before they decide to head the nation.

Listen, Understand and Respond

Listen, Understand and Respond Most of the time, people listen to respond rather than to understand. By the time the other person finishes speaking, the listener is often already formulating a response. Let’s explore what happens in such situations. While listening, we may be trying to engage our logical brain to recall our memories and creativity for a response, or we may be accessing our emotional brain to defend ourselves against what is being said. For example, if one person talks about ways another could improve, the listener might offer excuses such as a lack of time, resources, or support. Alternatively, they may bring up personal emotions, like health or family issues. These reactions often occur while the other person is still speaking, leading to a decreased understanding and an increased eagerness to defend one’s position. During this type of conversation, the listener may appear restless, exhibiting a lack of eye contact or head nodding. In such interactions, th...
