Playgrounds: The Hidden Training Ground for Life

Playgrounds: The Hidden Training Ground for Life As a kid, it was always exciting to play outdoors. In the past, schools were built with outdoor play equipment to ensure we were physically and mentally fit. However, things are changing in the present. Open spaces are becoming a luxury, and schools are therefore confining children to limited outdoor activities. Some of the common play equipment we used was not just for fun; it also had a hidden life lesson. Here is my interpretation of such equipment: Ø   Merry-go-round: Life is a circle. We come back to where we started. Though we came from the womb—a silent place where we rested before we came to the earth—we finally reach the earth to rest in peace. Ø   See-saw: When I see my friend above me, he sees me below him, but neither of us was down nor up for a long time. Ø   Slide: It is difficult to come up in life, but easy to slide down. Ø   Spiral slide: All falls are not straightforward. Sometimes ou...

The Ghost in the Machine: Is Your Company’s Vision Just a Wall Decoration?

The Ghost in the Machine: Is Your Company’s Vision Just a Wall Decoration? Many organisations’ craft elegant Vision, Mission, and Value statements. They’re often born in a conference room—either at the company’s founding or during a push for professionalism—and promptly enshrined on the "About Us" page. But then, reality sets in. Day-to-day operations slowly drift away from those lofty words, while leadership remains fixated on the top and bottom lines. At year-end, when the financial targets are met, the celebration begins. Yet no one asks: *"But did we live up to who we claimed to be?" If you’re an entrepreneur or a senior leader, pause for a moment. Seriously. Ask yourself: Is our company actually in sync with the statements we proudly display? If yes, congratulations—read on to strengthen that alignment. If not, what follows is for you. The Flight No One Wants to Repeat Imagine boarding a long-haul flight. It takes off on time, but soon things unravel. T...

Though People Have

Though People Have Though people have eyes, they sometimes fail to see the beauty in themselves and others. What use are such eyes if they cannot admire?   Though people have ears, they sometimes fail to hear their inner voice or listen to others. What use are such ears if they cannot truly listen?   Though people have mouths, they sometimes fail to speak their truth or reflect on others' words. What use is such a mouth if it stays silent when it should speak?   Though people have hearts, they sometimes fail to feel for themselves and for others. What use is such a heart if it cannot feel?   Though people have minds, they sometimes fail to think deeply or welcome others' thoughts. What use is such a mind if it does not think?   Though people have hands, they sometimes fail to reach out for help or lend a hand to others. What use are such hands if they do not help?   Th...

Less than a minute, Lesson-3013 Maturity

Less than a minute, Lesson-3013 Maturity If you don’t exhibit maturity, don’t expect others to treat you with maturity. Remember, you will be treated the way you treat others. Maturity is not about acting on impulsiveness, but about understanding how to convert impulsiveness into assertiveness. M.L. Narendra Kumar Director Instivate Learning Solutions PVT LTD

Less than a minute, Lesson-3012 Impulse Vs Intellect

Less than a minute, Lesson-3012 Impulse Vs Intellect Spending is impulse in action, while investing is intellect in action. Instead of feeding impulsive behaviour with offers and discounts, nourish your intellect with savings and returns. Impulse erodes your present and nullifies your future; intellect preserves your present and secures your future. M.L. Narendra Kumar Director Instivate Learning Solutions PVT LTD

Less than a minute, Lesson-3011 Real Learning

Less than a minute, Lesson-3011 Real Learning School and college education are just a small part of our learning. Real learning begins after academic life ends.  It comes from failing and from listening to the lessons others have learned. M.L. Narendra Kumar Director Instivate Learning Solutions PVT LTD

Less than a minute, Lesson-3010 Holiday

Less than a minute, Lesson-3010 Holiday More than the holiday itself, it is the sense of going on a holiday that builds a momentum of happiness. This feeling sets a happy mood, which in turn creates a sense of ease that helps you complete the tasks at hand.  So, book your holiday, enjoy every day until you take off, and lose yourself once you land in your favourite destination. Less than a minute, Lesson-3009 Comfort and Drain

Less than a minute, Lesson-3009 Comfort and Drain What comforts you today may drain you tomorrow, while what drains you today may become your comfort tomorrow.   It is wiser to embrace the strain while you are young and resilient, rather than suffer the pains of age compounded by the drain of unpreparedness. Less than a minute, Lesson-3008 Pressure Vs Passion

Less than a minute, Lesson-3007 Big Picture Awareness

Less than a minute, Lesson-3007 Big Picture Awareness Those who connect their actions to a bigger picture understand the importance of every task and see how each contributes to a greater whole. Any activity that falls outside this vision should be evaluated before we pursue it further M.L. Narendra Kumar Director Instivate Learning Solutions PVT LTD

Less than a minute, Lesson-3006 Views and Respect

Less than a minute, Lesson-3006 Views and Respect Our capacity for productive dialogue—to listen and respond effectively—grows with our willingness to listen and respond before we put across our view.  This crucial willingness is rooted in a fundamental respect for others' viewpoints. Less than a minute, Lesson-3005 Contented Mind

Less than a minute, Lesson-3005 Contented Mind A contented mind is the outcome of gratitude in action. Gratitude itself springs from our perception of—and actions toward—what we already possess. When we perceive our possessions as sufficient for a satisfying life, a sense of gratitude arises. This gratitude, in turn, activates a state of contentment. M.L. Less than a minute, Lesson-3004 Sign of Maturity

Less than a minute, Lesson-3004 Sign of Maturity The sign of maturity is not in the mistakes one finds in others, but rather in the ability to recognise what is right and to help them overcome their faults. Maturity is tolerance and correction in action. M.L. Narendra Kumar Director Instivate Learning Solutions PVT LTD

The Unbroken Law.

The Unbroken Law.   Everything breaks; every heart knows hurt. Every secret tape leaks: every eye has teardrops meet.   No message is perfectly understood, no word escapes misinterpretation. Paper crumples: relationships can shatter.   Iron rusts; trust fractures. Joy fades: no tragedy lasts forever.   Ideas face rejection; problems find solutions. Rain always stops; the sun always returns.   Everything has a beginning and an end. Every problem has a solution. Life itself is a cycle of starts and finishes. We rarely control how it begins, and only partly guide how it ends.
