Tears

 Tears

When we came to the earth

From our mother’s womb,

We came crying,

Bringing tears of joy

To our near and dear ones.

When we started crawling

And got hit

By an obstacle,

Our tears started rolling.

When we started walking

And started falling,

Our tears started flowing.

When we came across

A darkness,

Our fear flowed in the form of tears.

When we were punished

As children, our words began

Not as words, but as tears.

When our love was rejected,

Our dejection poured from our eyes

As tears of pain.

When our love was accepted,

Our happiness overflowed

As tears of joy.

When a life sees ups and downs,

Tears find their flow

From the mountain of eyes

To the valley of cheeks.

Finally, when we take our last breath,

The dear and near are flooded with tears,

Bidding farewell to the world of the unknown.

Tears are not just water

That flows from our eyes—

They are expressions from the heart,

Communicated through crying.

Crying is not a cowardly act.

It is an act of expressing

Our pain and our joy.

Listen, Understand and Respond

Listen, Understand and Respond Most of the time, people listen to respond rather than to understand. By the time the other person finishes speaking, the listener is often already formulating a response. Let’s explore what happens in such situations. While listening, we may be trying to engage our logical brain to recall our memories and creativity for a response, or we may be accessing our emotional brain to defend ourselves against what is being said. For example, if one person talks about ways another could improve, the listener might offer excuses such as a lack of time, resources, or support. Alternatively, they may bring up personal emotions, like health or family issues. These reactions often occur while the other person is still speaking, leading to a decreased understanding and an increased eagerness to defend one’s position. During this type of conversation, the listener may appear restless, exhibiting a lack of eye contact or head nodding. In such interactions, th...
