Respect to an Army man

We start a day with an exercise to be fit for the rest of the day
They are always fit to keep us alive

We have a choice of food, choice of dress and we have choice to be there in the office or not
They only have no choices but to do and die

We can sit and talk democracy
But they keep the democracy alive

We see the colour of blood on reel
They see the colour of blood in real

We can see a film hero getting hurt or we can kill a villain with a move of the joy stick
Whereas they see the their fellow soldiers getting hurt everyday

We can walk and talk by saying “what an idea sirji
There are many sirjis who only have a Radio set that says” Roger Over”

We can scold the government and stay away from the election booth
but they need to stay in their bunkers for days on end

We dirty our fingers once in five years
Whereas their fingers remain dirty cleaning the borders of the dirty elements

Our fight with the neighbor can come to end
But we don’t know when their fight with our neighbors will end

We keep sending new CVs and wait for the employer’s response
Whereas they only send letters home and eagerly wait to see their loved ones

We read war stories
They have several stories to tell their grandchildren

We watch the war movies
Whereas they are the heroes in it

Our children are waiting for our departure
Whereas their children are waiting for their arrival

We are sitting and reading this article in the comforts of our homes
Whereas they are braving the severe cold weather to ensure our comforts

Let us not wait anymore to salute our heroes

We are with you

A Thankful Civilian

If we carefully examine the model, it has a sound application in running an effective training program too.
