Do we ask the right questions?
Once I was buying self-development books from the platform
near Chennai Railway station. I picked up few books on selling skills and told
the platform vendor " don't over charge me, I regularly buy the books from
the same shop" The shopkeeper was a young boy who was hardly 16 years old.
The young boy told " sir could you repeat what you said"
with a doubtful voice I said" don't overcharge me I buy books in your shop
regularly ", the boy said " if I would have overcharged you, do you
think you would have been my regular customer.
These words are still ringing in my mind and I narrate this
incident in all my sales training programs. Great sales lesson learnt on the
platform.
