*We also need water*

A middle-aged man on Amavasai day went to his terrace and placed a plantain leaf with a food on it and started calling the crow by shouting ka ka ka … within few minutes he saw a crow flying towards the plantain leaf.

The man with a smile thought about his dead father and turned towards the terrace door, suddenly he heard someone calling him uncle, the middle-aged man turned towards the direction in which the sound has come but he couldn’t see anyone. He again turned towards the terrace door and heard someone calling uncle, with a surprise he again turned in the direction and stood for a while. The crow was not eating the food, it was staring at the middle-aged man and said “uncle can you come closer”, the man was shocked and didn’t know how to react, with fear he kept few steps towards the crow

The crow said come closer uncle, I will not harm you.

The middle-aged man went closer and asked the crow how come you are speaking?

The crow replied when you call me you expect me to hear your voice but why can’t you expect me to talk?

The middle-aged man with excitement said Appa nengala pa pesaringa  (Daddy is it you who is speaking?)

The crow replied “if you expect your father to speak through me, I pity your innocence and please do remember I called you uncle.

The middle-aged man asked the crow “tell me what do you want to speak”?

The crow replied – Uncle please give me 20 rupees

The middle-aged man was shocked and asked why do you want 20 rupees

The crow asked uncle from where do you get drinking water

The middle-aged man replied we buy water cans

The crow asked “Don’t you get drinking water?

The middle-aged man said- our groundwater is not fit for drinking and we don’t get quality water in our taps

The crow asked, “what will happen if you don’t get water cans”?

The middle-aged man said “I don’t want to imagine such a situation”

The crow said “uncle I am happy that you give us food keeping your elders in mind” but please do remember there is a future and that future is for your children, grandchildren, animals, birds and other living things. Today your buying water cans, tomorrow there will be cans but not water.

Please do remember water is common to us, next time when you come to the terrace to place food to us do also place a bowl of water for birds like us, when we are alive we can eat the fruits and drop the seeds in lands and forest so that

*Humans can be alive to think about your elders as well as your next generation*

*The crow also said when you take time to think about people who are dead, do take some time to think about people who are alive*

The middle-aged man eyes were with tears, he rushed down and came with a bowl of water.

Being Jaby is being a fine human being.

Being Jaby is being a fine human being.   L&D Global Chennai Chapter was instrumental in bringing Jaby closer to my heart, our journey was not too long, but it was filled with fun, humour, joy and learning too. When Jaby was present, dullness was absent. He filled the hall with his sense of humour, and his thoughts were deep-rooted in bringing the best out of every human. Jaby was the most admired person in any forum; when Jaby picked the mic, the audience pulled themselves to the edge of the chair. Jaby was casual in his appearance, but he was a thorough professional everywhere. During COVID, if there was one person whom I counted on to help people, it was Jaby; his car was filled with masks, sanitizer and an oxygen concentrator. His social bent of mind made him a good Samaritan. Jaby was a curious child, whenever we both met, he was curious to improve his skills and knowledge, and his quest for development was limitless. Jaby and I collaborated in the year ...
