Don’t Feel Proud

Dear Parents

Don’t feel proud when your child’s finger runs on mobile Apps
Worry, why your child’s finger is not touching the muddy ground

Don’t feel proud when your child quickly swipes the mobile screen
Worry, why your child is sitting in the same place

Don’t feel proud when your child is calm once the cartoon is on
Worry, why your child doesn’t make a noise

Don’t feel proud when your child wins a game in play station
Worry, why your child doesn’t play in the open grounds

Don’t feel proud when your child starts eating once you give a mobile
Worry, why your child is not enjoying the food that is eaten

Don’t feel proud when your child falls asleep when you play rhymes on the mobile

Worry, why your child is not interested when you sing rhymes

Don’t feel proud when your child uses a joystick
Worry, why your child is not able to stick some images in the craft book

Don’t feel proud when your child is talking about video game's heroes
Worry, why your child is not aware about real time heroes

Don’t feel proud when your child is recognising junk food advertisements

Worry why your child is not interested in healthy food

Don’t measure your child’s intelligence with the ability to use the gadgets, measure your child’s intelligence with the ability to think, talk, listen, play, sing, craft, converse, understand etc.

Remember the gadgets around you were developed by yesterday’s kids who didn’t use gadgets, who were just kids who went to playground and slept with bedtime stories

In future robot will listen but ensure child can speak

In future robot will ask but ensure child can converse

There is more in a child than a gadget, your child’s life is in your hands and not in the gadget you gave to your child

While listening, we may be trying to engage our logical brain to recall our memories and creativity for a response, or we may be accessing our emotional brain to defend ourselves against what is being said. For example, if one person talks about ways another could improve, the listener might offer excuses such as a lack of time, resources, or support. Alternatively, they may bring up personal emotions, like health or family issues. These reactions often occur while the other person is still speaking, leading to a decreased understanding and an increased eagerness to defend one’s position. During this type of conversation, the listener may appear restless, exhibiting a lack of eye contact or head nodding. In such interactions, th...
