The Tenant in Your Mind

The Tenant in Your Mind A middle-aged man, weary and burdened, travelled to a remote monastery seeking solace. Upon meeting the wise old monk, he poured out his frustrations. His voice trembled with a familiar pain—the story of a constant critic in his life. Someone who picked apart his every word, found fault in his every action, and turned every interaction into a battlefield of stress and anxiety. The monk listened in silence. Then, instead of offering direct advice, he told a story. “Once, there was a landlord plagued by a difficult tenant. Despite the landlord’s repeated, polite requests for calm, the tenant remained harsh, loud, and disruptive. Finally, realising that kindness alone wouldn't change the man’s nature, the landlord served him a legal eviction notice and reclaimed his property.” The monk paused, letting the story settle, before revealing its deeper meaning. “Some people,” he said, “are exactly like that tenant. They don’t just rent a room in your hous...

Solitary Growth-Song

Solitary Growth If I am lonely, it doesn’t mean I dislike people around me It means I love myself enough To enjoy my own company when I am alone If I am lonely, it doesn’t mean I am by myself It means I am with my memories Cherishing the moments I shared with others If I am lonely, it doesn’t mean I am anxious It means I am looking within To set things right in my life If I am lonely, it doesn’t mean I am pulling away It means I am thinking How to draw closer without overstepping If I am lonely, it doesn’t mean I am upset with others It means I am pausing To handle my anger without causing harm If I am lonely, it doesn’t mean I have failed It means I am turning my failures Into stepping stones for success If I am lonely, it doesn’t mean I am proud It means I am taming my ego To stay humble all my life If I am lonely, it doesn’t mean I am defeated It means I am making peace with myself To begin anew If I am lonely, it doesn’t mean I long for solit...

After a Long Time-Song

After a Long Time   Waiting to meet her, meet her After a long, long time Waiting to see her, see her After a long, long time So excited to see her, see her After a long, long time Longing to hold her hand, hold her hand After a long, long time Yearning to hear her voice, hear her voice After a long, long time Dying to speak with her, speak with her After a long, long time Craving to hold her close, hold her close After a long, long time Dreaming to kiss her, kiss her After a long, long time Counting days to be with her Counting hours to be with her Counting minutes to be with her Counting seconds to be with her Counting every heartbeat meant for her Restlessness has taken over me Only her presence can set me free Though our hearts are closer than before This distance aches — it’s hard to ignore Her presence is the cure, her words the balm I wait for the waiting to end, and for the calm For happiness to bloom, at last, in my arms. I am Happy-Song

I am Happy I am happy I am happy Not because of a hefty bank balance, But because I am balanced within. I am happy I am happy Not because of what I receive, But because of what I give. I am happy I am happy Not because of my success, But because of how I face my failures. I am happy I am happy Not because of my fame, But because of what I brought to the table. I am happy I am happy Not because of the profits I made, But because of the profits I shared. I am happy I am happy Not because of the fun I had, But because of the fun I shared. I am happy I am happy Not because of the wealth I created, But because of the means by which I created. I am happy I am happy Not because of what I have, But because of what I give. I am happy I am happy Not because of my mood, But because of my eternal state of mind. Let's be happy Let's be happy Not because of others' unhappiness, But because we create happiness for others. We don't ...

The Gatekeeper within

The Gatekeeper within When you open the door to pessimism, hope finds its way out. When you open the door to hatred, love finds its way out. When you open the door to greed, peace finds its way out. When you open the door to jealousy, relationships find their way out. When you open the door to enmity, friendship finds its way out. When you open the door to toxic people, kind-hearted people find their way out. When you open the door to ego, humility finds its way out. When you open the door to laziness, activeness finds its way out. When you open the door to worries, happiness finds its way out. The door is the mind. We alone hold the key to open and close it. Our attitude is the gatekeeper that decides who—or what—may enter. M.L.Narendra Kumar

Why Easy Comes at a Cost

Why Easy Comes at a Cost When someone makes your life easy, without realising it, they are also making you lazy. What comes easily sometimes comes with a cost—whether direct or indirect. But remember, when something is made easy, there is always something we lose in return. For example, it is convenient to order food through an app, but that meal comes with an extra cost, and in the long run, it adds extra fat around your waist. There are also instances where easy success does not last. The world has seen businesses that experienced early success but eventually shut down. In the 1990s and early 2000s, Mr. Kabir Mulchandani built the Akai brand in India by offering huge discounts. While it was attractive and brought him early success, his shortcut did not last. He became entangled in many legal cases and was a prominent news figure in 2000—but later, for all the wrong reasons. Success without ethics is like a bright light in the sky—it may seem attractive, but it can also be...

Do You Really Listen to Feedback—or Just Tune It Out?

Do You Really Listen to Feedback—or Just Tune It Out? Most of us are picky about whose advice we take. We lean in when trusted friends or family speak, but brush off everyone else—because, let’s face it, we assume they don’t “get” us. It feels safer that way. But in that safe space, we may be missing something far more valuable than comfort. When we shut out feedback, we also shut the door on: ·        A mirror to see how others truly experience us ·        Hidden strengths we underestimate ·        Blind spots we don’t even know we have ·        Clarity on what’s worth changing ·        A roadmap to the benefits that change can bring ·        And, perhaps most importantly—the unvarnished truth about who we are Let’s be honest: feedback can sting. It can feel like criticism wrapped in ...
