Corporate Lesson from a Garland Maker

Corporate Lesson from a Garland Maker

A young girl was appointed to a company through campus recruitment. She is an only daughter of a widow who makes flower garlands in front of the temple.

One day the daughter was disturbed and started sharing her displeasure in the workplace. When her mother enquired, the daughter said, "my manager is always finding fault and criticising me."

Her mother was listening to the daughter and tying the flowers together; she said, "life is like this garland, not all the flowers are fresh and not all the flowers will fit the garland and hence we discard few of them, but our ultimate objective is to make a garland that is fresh and presentable."

Similarly, in life we should not take all the words seriously; we should learn to discard a few and focus on building our life.

Next time when you come across such comments which are not relevant just consider them like these discarded flowers.

The daughter smiled and said, " If you would have been educated, you would have been in a better position"

Her mother replied it is not the education that matters; it is how you perceive your life that matters, my education happens every day.

The Modes of Persuasion The modes of persuasion, often referred to as ethical strategies or rhetorical appeals, are devices in rhetoric that classify the speaker's appeal to the audience. They are: ethos, pathos, logos, and the less-used Kairos & telos The above model has been used by Advertisement agencies to grab the attention of the viewers and finally bring them to the purchase desk or use the cart in shopping sites.
