Overcoming Affinity biases
Sometimes, we prefer similar individuals regarding
background, ethnicity, gender, interests, and beliefs. As a result, our
decisions may favour such individuals, known as affinity bias. This bias can
adversely impact others and lead to a lack of diversity and inclusiveness.
We should focus on the bigger picture and
prioritise the overall objective rather than our personal preferences for
specific individuals to overcome these biases.
