Overcoming Temporal bias
Sometimes, we judge people's pasts based on
the present standards. This act is known as temporal bias. We may assume
someone was good or bad according to today's values, even though we understand
that the past and present can be disconnected in many aspects of life.
Despite this understanding, we still have
biases that lead us to form positive or negative opinions about individuals. We
should view the past and present as separate entities to overcome such biases.
