Critic
vs Yes Men
A prudent and effective leader seeks to have critics
within their circle who are unafraid to challenge their ideas and play the role
of devil's advocate. This dynamic encourages the leader to consider different
perspectives and make well-rounded decisions. In contrast, bosses tend to
surround themselves with yes-men, who consistently agree with the leader and
shy away from posing challenges.
This can result in flawed decision-making and create
a challenging environment for the leader. Embracing individuals willing to play
the devil's advocate is more beneficial than having yes-men, as it fosters
comprehensive and thoughtful decision-making.
