Less than a minute Lesson-2952 Surround Yourself with Positive People

Less than a minute Lesson-2952 Surround Yourself with Positive People Surround yourself with people who discuss progress and growth and who are committed to self-development. These individuals will inspire you to move forward in life. Avoid those who brood, gossip, complain, or feel hopeless. Don’t waste your time with people who cannot make a difference in their own lives or others', as their negativity can be contagious. M.L. Less than a minute Lesson-2951 Humility

Less than a minute Lesson-2951 Humility One can receive the medal with pride, but one should bow with humility to be garlanded. While the medal is prestigious, it symbolically states that only humility can lead to further achievements. M.L. Narendra Kumar Instivate Learning Solutions PVT LTD Director

Yesterday's firmness is today's accomplishment.

Yesterday's firmness is today's accomplishment. You are what you are today because of what you were firm about and what you were not firm about. Examples: Yesterday, if you had taken a firm decision to complete your online module and done so, that proves that yesterday determines your today. Whereas, if you had not been firm about doing it, your today would not be in your control, and things could have happened that were not on your list. Those who are firm about what they want in the future and align their day-to-day activities with it are the ones who will enjoy a fulfilling life. The rest will lead chaotic, stressful lives. It is better to be firm about our needs for tomorrow and start moving our coins accordingly to avoid a life that is filled with time-wasters, people-pleasers, crises, and unwanted problems. M.L. Less than a minute Lesson-2950 Self-Love

Less than a minute Lesson-2950 Self-Love If you don't love yourself and live as if you are unlovable, you will one day hate yourself for not having shown enough love and care.  A life rooted in self-love is the only life truly worth living. Desire to Desperation

Desire to Desperation Many people have desires to achieve various goals, but these burning desires can sometimes fade away for personal reasons. To ensure a burning desire remains alive, one must transition from desire to desperation. Before delving into how to cultivate desperation, let’s clarify the difference between desire and desperation. Desire is the longing for something to enhance your life, while desperation is the urgent need for something to save it. Consider the example of a person who wants to lose weight and start walking. Every time the alarm rings, he hits the snooze button. Now, if the same person becomes desperate to lose weight for an upcoming photo shoot to create a portfolio for a modelling audition with a major agency—the last opportunity he has to break into the modelling industry—he will not wait for the alarm, he will immediately put on his shoes. A desire without a strong need can lead us nowhere. However, when a strong need fuels the desire, it...

The Four-Letter Universe

The Four-Letter Universe The word "love" has many dimensions and depths, and its meaning evolves for people at different stages of life. Here is a journey through life, exploring the concept of love. As children, we often viewed the phrase "I love you," exchanged between adults, as inappropriate—a reflection of our innocence. In our teenage years, we longed to say "I love you" to our crushes; this was adolescence in action. Once we reach a stage where we feel confident about our future, we may meet someone we believe is meant for us—that's love at first sight. However, fear of rejection often stops us from saying "I love you" outright. Instead, we might say, "I’m interested in you," or ask a friend to convey our feelings. If all goes well, hearts unite, marriages are registered, and a new chapter of love begins. Yet love often faces challenges—religion, caste, nationality, status, and misunderstandings can get in the way. ...

Soft skills are hard skills.

Soft skills are hard skills. During my Gen-Z interpersonal skills training, I encountered participants who wanted to learn and improve their interpersonal skills to manage their stakeholders better. However, I also noticed that they were worried about the challenges they face in their workplaces and the people they work with. During our discussions, many openly expressed that their jobs are hard & complex, the people are hostile, and managers are tough. I've been hearing similar sentiments for over two decades, and every generation seems to share them. As a trainer, I believe that when we start advising participants too early, we risk losing their engagement in the rest of the program. Their minds can be like boiling water, filled with hostility, which makes it challenging for me to provide practical advice. However, I set aside their feelings for a moment, and once they start to embrace the program, they become eager to learn. At that point, I ask them a thought-provokin...

Connect with your Uniqueness

Connect with your Uniqueness Although we recognize that each of us is unique, our desire to conform to societal expectations and to belong to a group often leads us to make compromises and fit into established systems. However, we eventually realize that the cost of fitting in goes beyond monetary concerns; it impacts our lives profoundly. Many people are living lives that do not reflect their true desires. They engage in constant comparisons and compete with others to either measure up to what others have achieved or to feel superior. This mentality often results in feelings of failure or success. Once we accept our own uniqueness, as well as that of others, life no longer resembles a racetrack. Instead, it becomes a shared path where we can walk together, allow space for one another, pause to wait for others, and engage in meaningful conversations. With this mindset, we won't be swept away by the definitions of success or failure; we will simply flow like a stream. Reflec...

The Salesperson's Trap: Are You Selling with FOMO or Caving to FOLOS?

The Salesperson's Trap: Are You Selling with FOMO or Caving to FOLOS? In the world of marketing, we all know FOMO—the Fear Of Missing Out. It’s a classic lever to pull: "Only one apartment left!" or "Sale ends tonight!" This tactic, rooted in the principle of scarcity, can be a powerful way to create urgency and push a hesitant buyer toward a decision. But there's a darker, more dangerous flip side that haunts salespeople themselves: FOLOS—the Fear Of Losing a Sale. This is the silent killer of profitability and confidence. When FOLOS takes over, logic flies out the window. The salesperson, gripped by anxiety, starts pre-emptively offering discounts and throwing in extras before the customer even asks. They negotiate against themselves, sacrificing margin for the fleeting comfort of a "yes." As John F. Kennedy wisely said , "Let us never negotiate out of fear. But let us never fear to negotiate." This quote perfectly captures...

The Three Gardeners: A Sales Parable for the Ages

The Three Gardeners: A Sales Parable for the Ages Once, a wise gardener gave three apprentices identical seeds and the exact, simple instructions for nurturing them. The first apprentice watered his seed diligently for a few days, but when he saw no sprouts, he lost interest. "Nothing is happening," he muttered, and turned his attention elsewhere, allowing the soil to dry up. The second apprentice was bursting with enthusiasm. Convinced he could speed things up, he drowned the seed with water, piled on fertiliser, and dug it up daily to check for progress. Within a week, the seed had rotted in the ground. The third apprentice was different. She trusted the process. She provided consistent care—water, sunlight, and patience—as instructed. Instead of just watching the pot, she tended to it. Weeks later, a delicate green sprout broke through the soil. Seeing their failure, the first two apprentices grumbled, "The seeds must have been faulty!" They rushed to...

From Knowing to Doing: The Bridge That Transforms Your Life

From Knowing to Doing: The Bridge That Transforms Your Life We all have a mental checklist of what's important: health, relationships, financial stability, inner peace. But here's the catch: recognising importance is not a skill. It doesn't burn calories, mend misunderstandings, grow your savings, or calm your mind. It's simply the starting point on a map—and most of us never take the first step. So, what separates those who know from those who actually live their values? The journey from awareness to action requires two powerful engines: Commitment and Consistency. And the fuel for both is a single, non-negotiable ingredient: Discipline. Discipline is what turns a decision into a destiny. It’s the force that gets you to the gym when your couch is calling, that chooses the salad over the fast food, and that sticks to a budget when a "can't-miss" sale pops up. It’s the daily, quiet practice of choosing what you want most over what you want now. ...

Less than a minute Lesson-2949 Hunger for Learning

Less than a minute Lesson-2949 Hunger for Learning Hunger is a physical need; at some point, we all experience it and seek ways to satisfy it. However, the hunger for learning is a personal drive. Unless we recognise the importance of learning, we will never develop a strong desire to acquire knowledge. M.L. Less than a minute Lesson-2948 Convincing Vs Influencing

Less than a minute Lesson-2948 Convincing Vs Influencing The more we try to convince someone, the more they resist. Learning the art of influencing through questions helps avoid wasting time and straining relationships. M.L. Narendra Kumar Instivate Learning Solutions PVT LTD Director

Less than a minute Lesson-2947 Breaking the Silence

Less than a minute Lesson-2947 Breaking the Silence Our silence can often be misinterpreted more than our words. In these instances, it is better to express ourselves and clarify than to risk being misunderstood. M.L. Narendra Kumar Instivate Learning Solutions PVT LTD Director

இதுவும்... கடந்து போகும்…(Idhuvum... Kadanthu Pogum...) "This too shall pass."

இதுவும் ... கடந்து போகும் …(Idhuvum... Kadanthu Pogum...)  "This too shall pass." Some people have minds that are full, while others are mindful of what fills them. A mind that is constantly full can become a prison of overthinking, complicating life with the twin burdens of past regrets and future anxieties. In contrast, a mindful person acts as a guardian of their own mind. They consciously choose which thoughts to process, nurturing only those that build the strength to face life's challenges and generate an inner peace that allows them to step into the future unburdened. Instead of clogging our minds with thoughts that hold us back, we must free them to experience the one beautiful life we have been given entirely. Remember the profound Tamil saying: இதுவும் ... கடந்து போகும் … (Idhuvum... Kadanthu Pogum...) "This too shall pass." Let this wisdom be your anchor. In moments of joy, it teaches humility; in moments of sorrow, it offers the p...

I will do it tomorrow.

I will do it tomorrow. There can be a tomorrow for every one of us, but today's hours, minutes, seconds, and milliseconds will not be added to tomorrow's 24 hours if we fail to use them now. There is a saying: "The bad news is time flies, but the good news is you are the pilot." Many people keep saying, "I will do it tomorrow," even though they know they have the time to do it today. This attitude towards time stems from lethargy and develops into the habit of procrastination. This habit can slowly take over your life, leading to a constant last-minute rush and increased adrenaline spikes. Think about how many times you have said, "I will do it tomorrow," only to keep repeating it. Tomorrow is a new day, and we should use it for new activities rather than for clearing pending tasks. There is a humorous saying in Hindi: आज करे सो कल कर , कल करे सो परसो , इतनी भी क्या जल्दी है जब जीना है हमें बरसों Its translation is below...

Less than a minute Lesson-2946 Every Life is a Story

Less than a minute Lesson-2946 Every Life is a Story Every life is a library of stories, and each one holds a lesson—both for its author and its audience. When we look back, we often find that the most painful chapters were, in fact, the most insightful. To live is to write your story day by day, with the power to make it not only meaningful for yourself but also inspiring for others. M.L. Narendra Kumar Instivate Learning Solutions PVT LTD Director
