A 6-Day Journey of Boundaries and Self-Worth PART 6: The Line Drawn
Arjun thanked the monk and completed the remaining sessions in
contemplative silence. On the final morning, as he retrieved his phone, he felt
its weight differently—not as a lifeline, but as a leash.
When he returned home, his wife greeted him at the door. "You
look... different," she said, studying his face. That evening, when his
manager called about a "quick meeting" on Sunday, Arjun paused. The
old reflex urged him to say yes. Instead, he drew an invisible line. "I'm
unavailable this weekend," he said calmly. "I'll address it first
thing Monday."
His manager paused, surprised. "Okay, sure. Monday works."
Arjun hung up and looked at his family gathered in the living room. For
the first time in years, he was fully present—not just physically there, but
genuinely available. He had drawn the line.
In doing so, he reclaimed himself.
🌟 THE
COMPLETE LESSON:
A people-pleasing life gives momentary satisfaction, but it starves the
person inside you forever. Boundaries are not walls—they are acts of
self-respect. Saying "no" to others sometimes means saying
"yes" to yourself.
Draw your line. Define your worth. Reclaim your life.
