A 6-Day Journey of Boundaries and Self-Worth-PART 3: The Silence That Speaks
At dawn, a bell echoed through the monastery. Arjun stumbled out of bed,
groggy and disoriented, and joined the other visitors for morning green tea.
They sat in silence, sipping from simple clay cups. Then they meditated, listened to a lecture on mindfulness, and finally took a break to relax under the
ancient banyan tree.
Arjun looked around. No one spoke. Everyone sat with eyes closed or
gazed peacefully at the horizon. The silence was deafening—and strangely
comforting.
Mid-morning, Kiran appeared at the door of his cottage. "Brother Ananda
will see you at 11 AM."
Arjun nodded and went to the monk's chamber. The room was serene, with a
Buddha statue positioned behind Brother Ananda, who sat cross-legged in
the center. The monk's face radiated calm, his eyes twinkling with quiet
wisdom.
"Yes, my dear friend," Brother Ananda said softly. "Share
what troubles your heart."
