Students in Pandemic-The History Makers

 Students in Pandemic-The History Makers

They did not go to schools, but they were getting educated

They did not wear their uniform, but they were disciplined enough to think alike

They did not see their friends, but they were in touch

They were not taught, how to learn online, but today they are teaching how to teach online

They did not expect their granny parents to leave early, but they did the last rituals with the mask

They did not expect their parents to lose their jobs, but they slowly reduced their wants

They did not have a spacious house to be online, but they found a place to sit and learn

They did not have a calm atmosphere, but they managed to take their notes

They did not know how to scan their papers, but they later taught their siblings to do the same

They did not know when they will go back to school but learnt the value of education

Some of them are promoted to 11th and, some are ready to hit the virtual college campus

Let us not call them lucky students; they are the most troubled set of students who are either mourning their dear one’s death, are pushed to poverty, or traumatised with the fear of death.

They would have not written their academics exams, but many of them have completed their life exams by shouldering the family responsibilities or sacrificing their studies for their parents’ medical expenses.

The generation that should be saluted for facing the worst pandemic in the modern days

The generation that should be appreciated, for adapting to a

new age learning without training

The generation that should be celebrated for becoming an adult while remaining a child

We can give grades in academics, but the lessons they have learnt and taught to the world cannot be graded and there no souls to grade them too, they are unique, and they are the makers of modern history.

Instead of calling them an easy pass or free pass generation, call them warriors of the modern world.

Listen, Understand and Respond

Listen, Understand and Respond Most of the time, people listen to respond rather than to understand. By the time the other person finishes speaking, the listener is often already formulating a response. Let’s explore what happens in such situations. While listening, we may be trying to engage our logical brain to recall our memories and creativity for a response, or we may be accessing our emotional brain to defend ourselves against what is being said. For example, if one person talks about ways another could improve, the listener might offer excuses such as a lack of time, resources, or support. Alternatively, they may bring up personal emotions, like health or family issues. These reactions often occur while the other person is still speaking, leading to a decreased understanding and an increased eagerness to defend one’s position. During this type of conversation, the listener may appear restless, exhibiting a lack of eye contact or head nodding. In such interactions, th...
