Road and Life-Song

 Road and Life

Roads can be shorter

Roads can be longer

But we should be disciplined enough to drive

Life can be shorter

Life can be longer

We should be prepared to live

Roads can be congested

Roads can be free

But we should have the patience to drive

Life can be filled with worries

Life can be filled with wonderful memories

We should be prepared to face both.

Roads can be filled with signals

Roads can have fewer signals

We should follow the rules

Life can have many obstacles

Life can flow freely

Our values should guide us through

Roads can have reckless drivers

Roads can have good drivers

We should drive safely

Life can have difficult people

Life can have lovable people,

We should learn to live with both.

Roads can be bumpy

Roads can be smooth

We should learn to drive with ease

Life can have ups and downs

Life can have twists and turns,

But we should remain calm enough to navigate through

Roads can have restless pedestrians

Roads can have patient pedestrians

Life can have restless people

Life can have calm and composed individuals

But we should learn to balance both.

Roads can lead to many destinations,

Life has one destination; let us define our purpose.

Set our direction

And with patience and an open mind, let the journey continue.

Listen, Understand and Respond

Listen, Understand and Respond Most of the time, people listen to respond rather than to understand. By the time the other person finishes speaking, the listener is often already formulating a response. Let’s explore what happens in such situations. While listening, we may be trying to engage our logical brain to recall our memories and creativity for a response, or we may be accessing our emotional brain to defend ourselves against what is being said. For example, if one person talks about ways another could improve, the listener might offer excuses such as a lack of time, resources, or support. Alternatively, they may bring up personal emotions, like health or family issues. These reactions often occur while the other person is still speaking, leading to a decreased understanding and an increased eagerness to defend one’s position. During this type of conversation, the listener may appear restless, exhibiting a lack of eye contact or head nodding. In such interactions, th...
