Chances We Miss
We all get a chance
to realize who we are, but we miss it by obsessing over why others behave the
way they do.
We all get a chance
to seek forgiveness, but we miss it by nurturing our egos, not knowing they are
poisonous weeds.
We all get a chance
to forgive others, but we miss it when we feed the hate within.
We all get a chance
to change ourselves, but we miss it by lecturing others on why they should
change.
We all get a chance
to take a break, but we miss it by insisting we are too busy for one.
We all get a chance
to think critically after a loss, but we miss it by blaming the stars.
We all get a chance
to talk to each other, but we miss it by scrolling on our phones.
We all get a chance
to eat healthy food, but we miss it when we reach for junk snacks.
We all get a chance
to burn a few calories, but we miss it by choosing the elevator, escalator, or
car for even the shortest distance.
We are given many
chances to lead a harmonious and healthy life, yet we keep missing them, blind
to the profound benefits of what we pass by.
