The Productivity Trap: Why Your Need to "Do More" Is Hurting You
Many people who are
overly obsessed with productivity often feel restless when they believe they
are not being productive or have little to do. What they might not realise is
that their mind and body are signalling a need for rest, which they
misinterpret as unproductiveness. This obsession can lead to increased stress,
resulting in poor work quality and longer hours. Furthermore, it can negatively
impact relationships, as individuals may develop unrealistic expectations that
others should not waste time either.
While productivity is
beneficial, it is crucial to recognise that continuous productivity is not
feasible. Taking breaks and allowing for rest can help you return refreshed and
more productive in the future.
