The Dual Focus: Honing Strengths While Addressing Weaknesses
In our pursuit of overcoming weaknesses, we must not neglect our strengths. While it is essential to address our shortcomings, we should remain equally mindful of our innate talents. Often, we focus so intently on our flaws that we forget to utilise our strong points. For instance, one might be an excellent writer but struggle with using AI tools. While learning these new tools, one should continue to write regularly; stopping altogether will lead to a gradual decline in that hard-earned skill. Over time, what was once a strength can atrophy into a weakness.
Therefore, as we
allocate time to improve our weaknesses, we must also dedicate consistent time
to practice and refine our strengths. A skilled batsman with weak fielding
abilities would not sacrifice his batting practice to focus solely on fielding.
Instead, while maintaining his core batting regimen, he will invest additional
hours to improve his fielding.
By learning to
balance this dual focus, we can simultaneously fortify our strengths and
systematically work on overcoming our weaknesses over time.
