The Idea's Unruly Clock: Don't Let Yours Slip Away
Ideas don't keep a
schedule. They flash into existence at any moment—while you're deep in thought,
mid-conversation, lost in a book, or simply observing the world around you.
The truth is, we are
not starved for ideas; we are drowning in them. Every one of us is a wellspring
of potential. But here is the silent tragedy: many of us go to bed with a
brilliant notion, only to wake up and slip back into the comfort of routine. The
morning light aborts the idea conceived in the night.
Then, there are the
others. They are the shapers, the makers. They also sleep with an idea. But
they wake up with purpose. They shake up their thoughts, shape up their vision,
and show up for the work, day after day.
These individuals do
more than have ideas; they give them life. They love their ideas, marry their
commitment to them, and live in their service. They don't hoard their visions;
they build them into products, craft them into services, and convert them into
lasting legacies. Every giant company—be it a century-old institution like
Dabur or a tech pioneer like IBM—began as a fleeting thought in someone's mind.
What was once a fragile idea is now a titan of industry.
So, go ahead. Shape
up your idea. Do not let the fear of failure keep it shelved. Do not let the
dread of criticism hold you back. Instead, use fear as your fuel and criticism
as the spark to kindle your idea into a roaring fire. Your moment isn't on the
calendar; it's in your hands.
