The
100-Day Doorway: From Day 265 to a Year Worth Remembering
Today is the 265th day of the year—which means exactly 100 days remain
before the year closes.
You may have fulfilled many of the goals you set. Some may still be in
progress. A few may have quietly slipped your mind. If you have already
achieved more than you missed, be happy. If not, don’t worry—you still have 100
full days left.
Life gives us a choice: we can regret what we missed, or we can rally
ourselves around what is still possible. Each of us has something remarkable we
can achieve in the next 100 days. That “something” is personal. Finishing a
book or authoring one are both remarkable achievements. Let us not compare our
progress with others and belittle our own.
Some may still read this with doubt: “265 days have passed. What can I
do in the next 100?” Here is the truth: a lot. During our own lifetime,
innovations have been imagined, built, and launched in 100 days. There are many
more, but here are a few to inspire you:
- Swiggy POP (India): This curated
food-ordering feature was developed and launched in just 100 days. It
simplified choices by offering single-serving meals at affordable prices.
- Zephyr Plus Ventilator (UK): At the height
of the COVID-19 pandemic, a team at Babcock International—with no prior
medical experience—designed and built this ventilator in under 100 days to
support the NHS.
- UGRAM Battle Rifle (India): A startup,
Dvipa Defence, in collaboration with DRDO, designed and built this
indigenous 7.62×51 mm rifle in just 100 days, making it one of the fastest
weapon development programs in the country.
- Uber Eats (USA): The first
version of the food delivery platform was built in less than 100 days by a
team of about 30 builders across San Francisco and New York.
Ask yourself what you truly want to achieve, then work toward it for 100
days. On December 31, close the year with a sense of accomplishment. On the
first day of the new year, start with a bang.
100 days is neither less nor more. It is 2,400 real hours, 144,000
minutes, and 8,640,000 seconds—all in your hands.
Let the countdown begin—with confidence in your mind and passion in your
heart.
