How does a Leader Collaborate?
True Leaders believe in joint Goal setting, hence they collaborate with the team to set Goals, by doing so the ownership is shared between everyone and hence, they stay committed towards achieving the same.
Since Leaders Trust subordinates, they involve them in Problem solving, Idea Generation and Decision Making. These kind of collaborative approach sends a clear signal, though not explicitly communicated to the team, but the Team can understand that “ Our Leader has full faith in our capabilities and he do Trust us that we can come up with better thoughts and action”  such feelings evoke Trust between the subordinates and the Leader
To improve the subordinates’ performance or to overcome their weaknesses, Leaders use collaborative approach which is perceived as a genuine concern by the subordinates and hence they start trusting the Leader and opens freely to discuss improvement plans
The fundamental though behind Trust is who is going to Trust first, the Answer is, it is the Leader and that is the unwritten rule of Collaborative Leadership.
Ask yourself how you can use collaboration as a tool to increase the Trust between you and your team
Collaboration brings the Team together and Trust holds them together
