Hammer
Nails & Leadership
In a newly constructed office, there was a
Carpentry work that was going on, a young carpenter was nailing some wood with
a hammer and he was surprised to see the crack in the wood. The senior
carpenter took the wood in his hand to examine it and said, "you should
have used a smaller nail and guided him."
The carpenter said
" before we hammer, we should examine the wood, identify the size of the
nail and determine the pressure with which we should hammer it"
The young carpenter
agreed and corrected his mistake.
Communication is like
nailing the wood, As Leaders we should understand our subordinate’s nature, we
should choose the right words and we should use the right tone to nail our
message.
It is not only the
words that hurts, it is also the way it is conveyed.
Power
is like a hammer, it can either empower or dis-empower a person
