the painter in me
began painting you—
the curve of your silence,
the light in your stillness.

the author in me
began writing a book about you—
the day you laughed at rain,
the night you spoke without words.

the poet in me
began reciting poems on you—
poems of serene moments,
of dawns we borrowed and kept.

After travelling with you,

the traveller in me
began exploring you—
not to find, but to understand.

And after dining with you,
after sharing bread with you—
the chef in me
began cooking for you—
not just food, but warmth,
not just spice, but care.

After staying with you,

the caretaker in me
began caring more for you—
caring for our love,
and for the quiet you.

After relating with you,

the lover in me
began loving you—
not as a choice,
but as a remembering.

And after being touched by you,

the fire in me
began burning to be touched more—
not by hands alone,
but by the love only you carry.

Longing for a life—
to be loved by you,
to live with you,
