The Kingdom within
Deep inside the human mind, there is a
battlefield where wars are waged. We fight plenty of wars; the
irony is that in this war, the winner and the loser are none other than us.
In the war between greed and need, if greed
wins, our purse empties and our financial kingdom collapses. Whereas if need
wins, our bank account fills and our financial kingdom becomes a benchmark for
others.
In the war between hate and love, if hate
wins, our kingdom of the heart collapses, leaving us to live with perennial
irritation and frustration. Whereas if love wins, our kingdom of the heart
becomes a palace where peace and harmony live.
In the war between jealousy and inspiration,
if jealousy wins, our kingdom of peace ends and a sense of lacking looms over
our lives. But if we are inspired by others' growth, our kingdom of learning becomes a palace of libraries, where we gain more knowledge from others' success.
In our lives, we face many wars, from fear versus courage to pessimism versus optimism. Unless we let go of
the negativity within us, our minds will become battlefields forever, where conflict, confrontation, anger, and disturbance will prevail.
We are the kings and queens who can convert our minds into palaces— where we can establish libraries to learn from and gardens to admire, where peace and tranquillity become a quality.
Remember, we alone hold the
keys to that transformation.
