Daily Sales Report

Daily Sales Report as a Tool for Self-Development

Daily Sales Report in short is called DSR, it is the tool to measure and evaluate the Salesman's efforts. Today, many organizations are finding it difficult to get the DSR in time as well get it filled as per the prescribed format.

What is the reason behind the above stated problem?

There can be many reasons, here are few of my findings

·         The quality of manpower joining sales force is not up to the mark.

·         The willingness to take responsibility of one’s action is reduced

·         The ability to articulate one’s activities is reduced due to over usage of short forms of written communication like SMS

·         Willingness to see report as part of their work is missing and there are many company specific issues.

Is there anything we can do to motivate the sales force to submit the reports on time?

If there is a problem, there is a solution

During one my Session for a sales force, we encountered the same problem related to DSR and these are the thoughts I shared to motivate the sales force.

·         DSR is not only a report, it is a reflection of one's efforts.

·         DSR with poor sales data does not mean, you are a non-performer, it means you are hard working

·         DSR helps you to understand the power of Investing time on yourself & enables you to introspect yourself on a daily basis

·         DSR motivates you to stay focused on your targets

·         DSR helps you to develop a routine, that helps you to devote your time on a daily basis for your Self- Development

·         DSR helps the company to understand the ground reality better and helps in Developing effective marketing strategies that will help you to achieve your targets

·         Finally, DSR is a proof of your efforts irrespective of whether you achieved your numbers are not.

If you would like to motivate your team to increase their willingness to write their DSR, contact us to run an effective intervention on making DSR as a habit

Listen, Understand and Respond

Listen, Understand and Respond Most of the time, people listen to respond rather than to understand. By the time the other person finishes speaking, the listener is often already formulating a response. Let’s explore what happens in such situations. While listening, we may be trying to engage our logical brain to recall our memories and creativity for a response, or we may be accessing our emotional brain to defend ourselves against what is being said. For example, if one person talks about ways another could improve, the listener might offer excuses such as a lack of time, resources, or support. Alternatively, they may bring up personal emotions, like health or family issues. These reactions often occur while the other person is still speaking, leading to a decreased understanding and an increased eagerness to defend one’s position. During this type of conversation, the listener may appear restless, exhibiting a lack of eye contact or head nodding. In such interactions, th...
