Freedom or Escapism
We often find that
the word "freedom" holds different meanings for each of us. For some
of us, freedom means being free from family burdens; for others, it represents
financial independence or leaving a toxic workplace. When we contemplate freedom,
we might envision breaking chains or escaping from a cage. However, we must
remember that freedom is not something granted to us from the external world;
it's something we must cultivate from within.
Let's consider our
family burdens: Is family truly a burden, or is it an opportunity for us to
live with a sense of responsibility? Is financial freedom simply about securing
wealth for life, or is it about us developing the skills to increase our
earning potential? Is the workplace toxic, or does it provide us with an
opportunity to learn how to interact with diverse personalities? When we
closely examine what we perceive as freedom, we may realise that it often
resembles escapism.
Once we change our
attitude towards our families, clarify our financial goals, and understand that
people are inherently different, we begin to free ourselves from our mental
burdens.
Now, let's ask
ourselves what kind of freedom we are genuinely seeking and start working from
within to achieve it. Let's remember that we create and lock our own cages, and
while we may hope for miracles to help us escape, we must understand that we
hold the key. It is our own minds that we must learn to open.
