Sculpturing and Mentoring
A rock in the hands of a skilled
sculptor can be transformed into a beautiful statue. Similarly, we should view
ourselves as raw material and find the right mentor to help us develop our
potential. While a sculptor's patience is tested during the carving process,
both the mentor's and the mentee's patience are tested in a mentoring
relationship. As a mentee, if we are willing to be shaped and demonstrate
patience, our mentor will be more inclined to guide someone eager to learn and
grow.
The relationship between a mentor and a
mentee is akin to that of a sculptor and a rock. The key difference is that a
rock cannot express itself, while a mentee should actively seek to improve and
become more effective in whatever they pursue.
